ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé Alumni Association welcomes new directors and announces president-elect
The ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé Alumni Association Board of Directors proudly announces the election of six new directors. These alumni leaders bring a wealth of professional expertise, community engagement and a deep commitment to advancing ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé’s mission through enrollment, engagement and employment initiatives.
In addition, alumni elected Jeff Radcliffe ’77 as president-elect. Radcliffe, a retired vice president and chief compliance officer at Horace Mann Insurance Co., has been an active member of the Alumni Association Board since 2022. A Jacksonville resident, he has also served on the Jacksonville City Council, the Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission and several nonprofit boards. Radcliffe credits ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé with shaping his personal and professional journey and looks forward to leading the Board as the College approaches its bicentennial in 2029. Directors typically serve five-year terms, while the president-elect position is a two-year term.
Mitch Bialek ’78
Bialek, Chief Compliance Officer and Counsel for CSS, LLC in Chicago, has built a distinguished career in financial services law. At ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé, he was active in student government, Sigma Pi literary society and the swim team. He looks forward to sharing the value of a liberal arts education and helping prospective students and alumni see the long-term benefits of IC’s transformative experience.
Matt Baughman ’94
A former Chief of Staff to the Chancellor at SIU Carbondale and longtime leader at the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, Baughman has dedicated his career to higher education and public service. Today, he continues to support the Edgar Fellows Program and serves as director of communication for Banterra Bank. Named IC’s 1993 Student Laureate of the Lincoln Academy of ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé, Baughman lives in Carbondale with his family and is eager to strengthen alumni connections.
Julie Minch Dailey ’93
Dailey serves as an analyst for the ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé Teachers Retirement System and is also the owner and illustrator of DaileyDrawings, LLC, with two published books. While at IC, she was active in Student Senate, Student Activities Board, and The Rambler. Dailey remains deeply engaged in the Springfield and Central ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé community and looks forward to enhancing alumni engagement and recruitment efforts.
Dan Fry ’85
Fry spent his career in marketing and sales in the medical device and pharmaceutical fields before retiring to spend more time with his family. He is passionate about ensuring that alumni who live far from campus remain connected to IC. A Speech Communications major, Fry directed the campus TV studio as a student and was active on the Student Activities Board.
Alessandra Capparelli McNamara ’15
McNamara is a nursing instructor at Harper College, where she also advises student organizations and helped launch a campus chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). At IC, she was active in Gamma Delta Literary Society, honor societies, and Up ’til Dawn. She remains a frequent participant in alumni events and is passionate about giving back to the community that shaped her path.
Emily Lou Smith ’16
Smith, a Technical Sales Representative with Dell Technologies, specializes in servers and datacenter solutions for state, higher education and healthcare clients. As a student, she was a cheerleader, Rotaract Club member, and leader in the Student Alumni Association. A former IC admission counselor, Smith is excited to give back to the place that shaped her personally and professionally.
The ͬÐÔÁµÉ«Çé Alumni Association Board of Directors includes elected alumni representatives who share a mission to further the interests of the College, strengthen the connections between alumni and their alma mater, and foster a spirit of fellowship and goodwill in the alumni community.
